Thermo Bamboo
Thermo facade bamboo decking is created through an innovative production process where bamboo fibers are compressed under high pressure and thermally modified at 200 °C. This unique treatment results in a compact, stable, and extremely hard final product, ideally suited for outdoor use such as terrace planks and facade cladding. Clips make the installation of both the facade cladding and terrace planks easy. The parts are available with a water-based oiled finish and have a length of 186 cm.
Some benefits of thermally modified bamboo:
– Highly stable: Thanks to the thermal modification process, bamboo retains its stability even under changing weather conditions.
– Fire class B: Bamboo achieves fire class B, indicating a limited contribution to fire hazard.
– Environmentally friendly: Despite bamboo being naturally less durable, the thermal treatment makes it suitable for various applications, making it an environmentally friendly choice.
– Durability class 1: Thermally modified bamboo achieves durability class 1, comparable to the best tropical hardwood species, confirming its long lifespan.
– Attachment with clips: Installation is simplified by using clips for both facade cladding and terrace planks.
– Exceptionally hard: After thermal treatment, bamboo becomes extremely hard, making it resistant to wear and damage.
Why is bamboo a sustainable choice?
Bamboo, although naturally less durable, becomes stable and suitable for various applications such as facade cladding and terrace planks thanks to the thermal modification process. Thermally modified bamboo exhibits high durability and quality comparable to the best tropical hardwood species. Additionally, bamboo grows rapidly, and after harvesting, new shoots can grow from the bamboo root within a few days. This makes bamboo a sustainable and renewable source for production.
