Thermo Poplar
Thermally modified poplar is extremely durable due to the heat treatment. The wood has a beautiful, uniform golden-brown color, but it fades relatively quickly to a silver-gray tone. Additionally, it is a very local wood species!

The characteristics of thermo poplar
Durable wood
- Durability class 1 to 2 (after thermal modification), resulting in a lifespan of 20–25 years without treatment.
- The natural resistance to fungi and insects minimizes maintenance costs.
Elegant appearance
- Beautiful grain with small knots for a clear and elegant appearance.
- Very stable wood with a soft texture.
- When it grays, poplar wood develops a beautiful silver-gray color.
Environmentally friendly
- Very fast-growing tree, and it comes from nearby: France, Germany, or even the Netherlands.
- Currently the most sustainable choice for wood facade cladding.

Treatment
- Can be used untreated.
Various treatments are available to maintain the brown color. For example, an exterior oil – this preserves the natural appearance of the wood. - The grain and knots remain visible, and the product is easy to apply. Treatment with a stain is also possible.
- Impregnation: An alternative method to prevent the wood from graying is pressure impregnation.
