Housewood supplied the Accoya wood for the exterior siding of the Op Stoom Daycare Center (KDV) in Haarlem. The building is constructed using a wood-based, vapor-permeable structure and finished with our Accoya wood siding—a sustainable choice that perfectly aligns with the project’s green goals.
Accoya is ideally suited for this type of application: the wood is extremely durable, dimensionally stable, and has a lifespan of over 50 years.
This use of wood contributes to significant CO₂ sequestration in the structure—amounting to 36,858 kilograms of CO₂ in this project. This makes this daycare center not only a wonderful place for children to play and learn, but also a concrete example of how building with wood contributes to a more sustainable built environment.
