Warm façade of Western Red Cedar

For this home, a warm façade was chosen using Western Red Cedar. This Clear and Better No.2 grade wood provides a uniform appearance and is virtually knot-free. The wood comes from North America and is known for its natural resistance to rot, fungi, and insects. In addition, it has a durability class of 2, resulting in a lifespan of 20–25 years.

Our advice

This Red Cedar wood is supplied in 15×130 mm board profiles. Thanks to the tongue-and-groove connection on both the long and end sides, the boards can be installed neatly and efficiently, with minimal cutting waste and a seamless finish.

The warm reddish-brown color and uniform texture give a timeless appearance, which, if left untreated, will beautifully weather to a natural grey over time.

In addition to façades, the wood is also well suited for eaves, fences, and more.
